AAA

Cardinals 7-Giants 3

Following a big third inning the Cardinals held off the Giants 7-3.  The Giants jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning led by a run scoring single by Adam James. For the Cardinals, Henry McPherson capped off a five run third inning with an RBI sacrifice. On the mound, pitchers Nile Meleis, Bennett Eyler, Abram Carpenter and Zeke Kinsey combined for fifteen strikeouts in the victory.

A’s 6 Rangers 5

The A’s edged out the Rangers 6-5 in a tight matchup.  Trent Fontaine got the A’s started with a two-run groundout in the first, and Oliver Sturtevant tied it up with a triple in the third. The A’s pulled ahead for good in the sixth thanks to clutch hits from Griffin Kellogg and Ella Bea Blitzer, plus a walk by Dylan Shaffer. A’s pitching was strong, with five different pitchers combining for a solid effort, while the team also racked up nine stolen bases and played error-free defense. 

Gavin Stone led the Rangers with three runs batted in.

Rays 16 Reds 11 

The Rays rallied from an early deficit to take down the Reds 16-11 in a wild back in forth game packed with offense on both sides.

Porter Kenyon led the charge, going a perfect three for three with multiple extra-base hits. Osian Twomey crushed a pair of extra-base hits of his own and drove in three runs. James Canepa sparked the late surge with bases loaded when he hit a rocket that landed six feet short of the fence and bounced over for a ground-rule double scoring two.

Wesley Thompson came up big at the plate and on the mound—driving in three and pitching a clean final inning to seal the win. Achilleas Deftereos and Ben Coley each delivered strong one-inning appearances to keep the Rays within striking distance.

The Reds brought plenty of firepower too—Chase Hall doubled and scored twice, Ronan Movsessian added a run scoring single, and Spencer Katzman caused havoc on the bases. Will Crockett drove in a run early to set the tone, and Cameron Briggs worked three tough at-bats to keep rallies alive.

Cardinals 14 Grays 3 (5 innings)

The Cardinals and Grays faced off on a cold and drizzly day at Boyle Park. Led by the pitching of Dominic Palmer, the Grays jumped out to an early 2-1 lead. Sully Beckman and Zeke Kinsey added timely hits in the bottom of the third inning to help the Cardinals take the lead. Behind pitching and strong defense including a runner caught stealing at third by catcher Bennett Eyler the Cardinals closed out the victory.

A’s 10 Rays 6

The A’s defeated the Rays 10-6 fueled by a big first inning and a five-run fourth. Ella Bea Blitzer and Ethan Gruber led the offense, combining for three runs batted in and three hits, while the team drew nineteen walks and stole eight bases. The A’s pitching staff, including Ethan Gruber, Ella Bea Blitzer and Oliver Sturtevant , threw shutout innings and the defense played error-free baseball. 

Reds 8 Giants 7 

What started out as a slow and steady game of chess, through afternoon drizzles between two powerhouse AAA teams, turned into an ESPN's Top 10 highlight reel moment.  The Giants took an early lead in the first inning with great hitting from Bodhi Thier, who went two for three with two runs batted in on the night.  The Reds came back with a combination of great offense and great pitching, with rookie pitcher, Rome Iavarone on the mound allowing no hits in his first frame.  Ben Seidel for the Giants pitched two near perfect innings helping to keep the game close.  Ultimately, a single from Will Crcokett with two outs in the bottom of the sixth drove in speedy Chase Hall for the walk off win in a nail biter.  

Minors 

Padres 16 Marlins 3

The Padres bats came alive on Tuesday night at Friends Field, breaking open a close game late to win 16-3.  

Oliver Parrett started for the Marlins and was strong over two innings, giving up two earned runs.  He also roped a double to left in the first inning that led to the Marlins first run.   Raidan Fernandez and Eben Sykes added key hits for the home team.  

The Padres offense was led by Nico Bonistalli who went three for four with four runs batted in.  Padres player of the game, Brooks Beyer laid down a key bunt in the second inning to keep an inning alive, and added a diving catch at second base to end the game.  Nate Klein also had two hits and a clean inning on the mound.  

Tigers 12 Giants 10

The Tigers defeated the Giants 12-10 in a high-scoring game. Grey Robinson and Dawes Foley led the offense with big hits early. A five-run third inning, powered by walks and a single from Sam Woodard added to the lead. Grey struck out six over two hitless innings, and Preston Rhodes closed with a scoreless frame. Pax Parsa-Grenough had three runs batted in.  

The Giants showed plenty of fight, rallying in the bottom of the sixth inning to bring the game within two runs, but ultimately fell just short. Doyle Kazul and George Christodoulo each tallied two hits, while Parker Castelli and Danny Kievman made standout defensive plays to keep things close.

Mariners 7, Pirates 5

The Mariners built an early lead and held off a late Pirates rally for a 7-5 win. Gavin Schwartz led the offense with a triple, two runs batted in and three runs scored. Liam Pironne added a two-run single. Joel Sollner had a run scoring single in the first and struck out three over two innings on the mound.

For the Pirates, Alex Supple turned a bang-bang double play to stop a Mariners rally, while Otto Fackler had two hits and three runs batted in. George Ellis added two hits and a run batted in to spark the Pirates’ late comeback attempt.

Padres 9 Tigers 1

The Padres broke open a tight 1-1 game late, and pulled away to beat the Tigers 9-1 on Saturday at Boyle.  Sam Woodard started for the Tigers and was solid on the mound, turning in two great innings, allowing one run while ringing up five strikeouts.  Grey Robinson led the Tigers at the plate with two hits.  

Padres Aloha shirt winner George Quist was three for four with two runs batted in and tworuns scored.  He also turned in a perfect inning on the mound in the win.  Teddy Zukowski and Cole Ruben each chipped in with two hits for the home team.  

Marlins 6 Mariners 2

The Marlins prevailed over the Mariners 6–2 on Saturday at Boyle Park in a well-fought matchup between two balanced teams. The Marlins broke through in the fourth inning with patient at-bats and timely hits, including a two run single by Dashell Chocron and bases-loaded walks by Reed McCrea, Conrad Malone, and Archie Cope. Oliver Parrett led the offense with a three for three day at the plate and added two stolen bases, while Raidan Fernandez, Henry Heaton, and Quinn Ensley combined in relief to hold the lead.

The Mariners battled hard and showed off their depth with seven different players recording hits. Jack McGoohan. and Max Chan. each chipped in runs batted in while Paul Coogan impressed on the mound early with three strikeouts in under two innings of work. The Mariners showed grit and solid contact at the plate but came up just short in the late innings.

Majors

Brewers 3, RVLL Padres 1

Defense was in full form for last week’s game at Bacich Field in Kentfield as the Brewers beat the Ross Valley Padres 2-1.  The Brewers’ starter, Ryan Lynch started on was impressive with two strikeouts, no walks and no hits allowed over two shutout innings.  Alex Meleis relieved Ryan allowing only one run over two and two thirds inninjngs while striking out five.  Cody Chittenden closed the game out with one and one third scoreless innings striking out one.  

At the plate Ezra Pope-Meyer got the Brewers on the scoreboard with a Little League Home run (triple with an error) and went one for two.  Cody Chittenden led the way for the Brewers with two hits including a double and a run. Jake Hollander, Ryan Lynch and Holden Ryan all contributed with hits.

The web gem of the game goes to Jake Hollander who snagged a back handed fly ball running into the outfield to prevent runs from scoring.

Red Sox 6 RVLL Yankees 3

Behind the hitting of Henry Ellis and Paxton King, the Red Sox came from behind and held off the Yankees 6-3, in the second game of the three-game series against the Ross Valley Yankees.  The Red Sox took an early lead in the first inning when Henry Ellis hit a single that drove in a run. However, in the bottom of the first, the Ross Valley Yankees played small ball and scored two runs—one from a fielder's choice and the other from a tag-up play—taking a 2-1 lead.

In the top of the second inning, Paxton King hit a bases-clearing double that brought in three runs. He later scored after Henry Ellis recorded his second single and second RBI of the game.

Yankees 7 Red Sox 1

Powered by an offense led by Laszlo Winn and strong pitching the Yankees beat the Red Sox  7-1.  Winn had a triple that drove in a run and hit a two run inside the park home run.  Mason Zareem and Ben Locks each had hits.  Winn also got the start on the mound pitching a solid two and a third innings striking out six.

For the Red Sox, Cooper and Paxton each had hits. Shortstop, Cameron Welstead made two great plays to try to keep the Red Sox in the game.  

Yankees  5 Sea Lions 0

The Yankees took advantage of great pitching and timely hitting to beat the Sea Lions 5-0.  Laszlo Winn led the Yankees with two hits and Charlie McIntosh had two runs batted in.  Charlie McIntosh, Laszlo Winn, Sam Smith, Max Vreede, Calvin Boehle. and Zach Cornelius all pitched shutting out the Sea Lions.

For the Seal Lions, starting pitcher Ricky Ames struck out three and didn’t allow a walk.  Ricky Ames and Knox Meddow each had hits.  

Giants 2 Phillies 1

The Giants outlasted the Phillies, 2-1 in a tightly contested pitcher’s duel.  Tyler Feduska, Archie Byrne, Lucas Parrett combined to strike out thirteen batters for the Giants.  At the plate, Wyatt Droege hit a two run triple to provide all the runs needed.  Wyatt and Teddy Holbrook each had two hits on the day.  

Jordan Miller pitched four solid innings for the Phillies and Jasper Persson led the team with two hits and a run batted in.

Giants 12 Sea Lions 1

The Giants broke out with their best offensive output of the season collecting fourteen hits as a team to beat the Sea Lions 12-1.  Zach Hess led the way with three hits and Tyler Feduska, Lyle Feldman, and Declan Heidenreich had two hits apiece.  Tyler was also fantastic on the mound allowing just one hit with six strikeouts.  

Ricky Ames had a single driving in a run for the Sea Lions.

Phillies 9 Brewers 8

The Phillies defeated the Brewers 9 - 8 in an exciting, back and forth game at Boyle on Saturday afternoon. 

The MVP on the day for the Phillies was Matthew Cao.  He powered the Phillies with three hits (including a triple) four runs batted in and two runs scored, including a triple in the first inning.  Rivington Lee also had a big day with a key triple in the fifth inning.  Jeff Miller added two runs batted in for the Phillies.  Defensively, third baseman, Henry Lee showed off his glove and arm when he fielded a hard hit ball and made a great throw home to get the runner out in the fifth inning.  On the mound, relief pitcher Jack Devlin got the Phillies out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth inning, striking out two Brewers.  

The Brewers were aggressive at the plate recording ten hits on the day.  Cody Chittenden, Alex Meleis, Ezra Pope Meyer, and Holden Ryan all had two hits.  Defensively, right fielder, Wyatt Martin threw out a Phillies runner at the plate in the second inning.
