A’s 12 Grays 2
 
The A’s beat the Grays 12-2 last Monday, powered by a patient offense that drew sixteen walks and racked up eleven stolen bases. A five-run fifth inning broke the game open, with contributions from William Rafetto, Dylan Shaffer, Eli James,Trent Fontaine, and Ella Bea Blitzer, Ethan Gruber pitched two shutout innings to start, while Eli James and Ella Bea Blitzer provided solid relief. Trent led the team with two hits and strong defense, while Eli drove in three runs to pace the offense.
 
Cardinals 13-Reds 8
 
The Reds and Cardinals squared off in a slug fest last Wednesday night at Friends Field. Sullivan Beckman led the way for the Cardinals with three runs batted in. Henry McPherson took the mound for the Cards for the first time, striking out one and taking the game ball for his efforts. Pitcher Bennett Eyler closed out the victory for the Cardinals.
 
The Reds were led by Rylan Kneafsey who had two hits and limited the Cards to one run in two innings on the mound.
 
Rangers 7 Giants 5
 
Led by efficient pitching and sturdy defense the Rangers beat the Giants 7-5.  Rangers pitchers John Aoki and John Beacock each delivered two shutout innings with eleven strikeouts between them.  Finn Cornelius came in to secure the game's last five outs with no earned runs of his own - and a clutch strikeout on a full count to end the game as the Giants threatened with two runners on.  Asked later what he was thinking in the bottom of the 6th, Finn answered: "I was brave to myself."  For their part, Giants pitchers Adam James and Grayson Maclean each delivered two innings of quality pitching, flamethrower Ben Seidel demonstrated blistering velocity and Maguire Thistle finished the game off.  
 
On offense, Ben Seidel led the way for the Giants with two hits including the game's hardest hit ball.  On the Rangers' side, the standout offensive performance of the game came from George Nelson, who hustled his way from first to home in the second inning, scoring a run for the first time this season.
 
Rays 12 Grays 11
 
Clark Harris led the Rays with four runs batted in on three hits, including a clutch two-run single in the fifth, to power a 12-11 comeback win over the Grays.  Porter Kenyon got the scoring started with a first-inning run scoring double and later threw two scoreless innings with six strikeouts. James Canepa struck out five in his start and added three hits at the plate. Achilleas Deftereos drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth with a groundout to cap off the rally. 
 
Tristan Ryan had a strong game for the Grays, throwing two strong innings and going two for four with three runs batted in, including a key double in the fourth.
 
Cardinals 12-Giants 3
 
The Cardinals defeated the Giants to cap off an undefeated regular season finishing 13-0-1. Strong defense and pitching led the way for the Cardinals. Bennett Eyler drove in two runs with his first double of the year. Sully Beckman added a late single to drive in his tenth run batted in of the season. On defense, Henry McPherson made a leaping grab to catch a smash off the bat of Adam James. 
 
Ford McFerran and Grayson MacLean hit run scoring singles for the Giants. Adam James pitched one and one-third strong innings for the Giants.
 

Rays over Reds 10-7

Porter Kenyon drove in six runs with three clutch hits, including an inside-the-park homer, to lead the Rays past the Reds 10-7.  Porter also pitched two lights-out innings to start the game, striking out all six batters he faced. The Rays broke a 7-7 tie in the fourth with his game-winning blast. Isaac White stood out for the Reds with a strong relief inning and a big two-run double. Osian Twomey closed it out for the Rays with a clean inning, striking out three.

A’s 11 Rangers 4

Ethan Gruber led the A’s to an 11-4 win over the Rangers with a clutch performance, driving in four runs on three hits. The A’s jumped out early, scoring four in the first and three more in the second, with big contributions from Trent Fontaine, Eli James, and Dylan Shaffer. Ethan also pitched two shutout innings with six strikeouts, while the A’s showed discipline at the plate with ten walks and aggressive baserunning with eight steals. Despite nine stolen bases and solid defense from the Rangers, the early deficit proved too much to overcome.

 

Minors

 
Giants 9 Tigers 2

Behind an explosive offense led by the clutch hitting of Henry Lin and Carter Crosswell, the Giants defeated the Tigers, 9-2.  Henry Lin drove in four and Carter Crosswell drove in three runs to power the Giants to victory.  

Both teams pitched deep into their bench, with the Giants pitching six different players and the Tigers pitching seven.  Luca Nelson, George Christodoulo, and Mateo Meller all recorded their first strikeouts for the Giants.  Doc Davis returned from the injured list and provided a big spark for the Giants after his line-drive comebacker. 

Liam Lee, Teddy Luce, and Charlie Moore each pitched for the first time this season, combining for two scoreless innings for the Tigers. At the plate, Valentino Papale and Declan each notched two hits.

Pirates - 8 Padres - 3

The Pirates earned an 8-3 win over the Padres on Tuesday in a well-fought game.

Cole Ruben led the Padres’ offense with a three for three day.  Padres pitcher, Alex Sawyer held the Pirates scoreless in the first two innings while striking out three batters.

The Pirates rallied in the third inning and never looked back. Elijah Boley drove in two runs, and Otto Fackler, Burke Hall and Wyatt Burke added key hits. Pirates pitchers combined for a strong outing, allowing no earned runs after the first inning.

Both teams showed great energy and skill, making for an exciting matchup.

Tigers Top Marlins 12-6 Behind Valentino’s Big Night

Behind Valentino Papale’s big night the Tigers topped the Marlins 12-6. Valentino had three hits and five runs batted in to lead the Tigers past the Marlins. Grey Robinson  turned two impressive double plays at shortstop, fielding grounders, stepping on second, and firing to first.

For the Marlins, Eben Sykes had three hits and two runs batted in. Quinn Ensley and Eli Schroeder pitched two solid innings and Eli hit a big triple.

Pirates - 7 Giants - 2

In an exciting and well played game to end the regular season the Pirates were able to pull ahead to get the 7-2 victory over the Giants.

The Giants Sam Dessouky made his debut on the mound and held the Pirates scoreless while getting a strikeout.   The Giants’ Henry Lin paced the offense with a hard hit double to left field.

The Pirates Elijah Boley and Dylan Burke made their debuts on the mound and combined for two scoreless innings.   On offense the Pirates were led by George Ellis who had a monster game with four runs batted in on two big hits.  Calvin Crews had a nice single down the third base line and Otto Fackler had a triple.   

Padres 10 Tigers 3

Oliver Lynch reached base all four times, and had four runs batted in as the Padres beat the Tigers 10-3 in the regular season finale for both teams.  

The Tigers got big hits from Grey Robinson, Dawes Foley, and Sam Woodard, and Val Papale was strong on the mound with a scoreless inning striking out two.
 
The Padres got strong contributions on the mound for first-time pitchers Brooks Beyer and Cole Ruben, and Aloha Shirt winner Zack Rich.  George Quist chipped in with two hits of his own and Alex Sawyer had a bases clearing double. 
 
Mariners 7, Marlins 3

Paul Coogan had a triple and reached base four times as the Mariners held off the Marlins, 7-3. Huck Davis added a run scoring single, and Max Chan hit a double to deep left field and later scored in a sixth inning rally. Liam Pirrone struck out five over two shutout innings.

For the Marlins, Quinn Ensley and Raidan Fernandez both had key hits leading to runs while Will Deuyour and Dashel Cochran made key outs helping the Marlins stem the Mariners offensive onslaught.
 

Majors

Giants 8 Yankees 3
 
Wyatt Droege pitched four scoreless innings and Lyle Feldman closed the game out to lead the Giants to a 8-3 victory over the Yankees.  Lyle and Zach Hess had three hits apiece and Declan Heidenreich contributed two hits with three runs batted in. 
 
Max Vreede and Calvin Boehle had two hits each for the Yankees.
 
 
Brewers 2, Phillies 0
 
In their rubber match at Boyle Buena Vista, the Brewer’s out dueled the Phillies, 2-0.  
 
Phillies starting pitcher, Matt Cao was lights out going two scoreless innings striking out five.  Jasper Persson, Jack Devlin and Jordan Miller relieved him allowing only two runs over the remaking six innings.   
 
The Phillies pitchers, however, weren’t enough to match the Brewers pitchers who brought their “A” game, tossing a combined shutout, giving up only one walk.  Brewers starter, Ryan Lynch went three innings striking out five, reliever Cody Chittenden then went went two and two-thirds striking out three and Alex Meleis came in to get a big out with the bases loaded in the 6th.  
 
In the top of the fourth inning Cody Chittenden broke the scoreless tie when he ripped a two out double to centerfield scoring two runs. Alex Meleis, Liam Mechler and Holden Ryan also got hits for the Brewers. 
 
For the Phillies Jordan Miller and Jasper Person got hits and Jack Devlin went two for three on the day. 
 
Brewers’ shortstop, Holden Ryan made two spectacular plays to help secure the shutout.
 
Red Sox 13  RVLL Padres 1  
 
The Red Sox bats came alive last week at Bacich Field as the visiting Red Sox recording a season-high fifteen hits to rout  the Ross Valley Padres, 13-1.  The Red Sox’ Paxton King led the charge going three for three, including a double, two singles, a walk and four runs batted in.  Henry Ellis also had a standout game with two hits and four runs batted in. Additionally, Cameron Welstead, Tate Shackleton, Cooper Maddox, and Abdullah Mullah each contributed two singles.  
 
On the pitching side, starter Henry Schmidt recorded three strikeouts, while relief pitcher Paxton King added four more.  
 
The highlight of the game occured when game ball recipient, Tomer Gesthalter, made his first pitching appearance of the season.  Tomer struck out both batters he faced to end the game, earning an enthusiastic celebration from his teammates on the mound.  
 
RVLL Yankees 11 Sea Lions 8
 
The Ross Valley Yankees beat the Sea Lions 11-8. Cole Pritchard and Liam Koss each had two runs batted in but it wasn’t enough to hold off the Yankees. 
 
Sea Lions 16 Red Sox 2
 
The Sea Lions beat the Red Sox 16-2. Rickey Ames had three runs batted in, Cole Pritchard had four runs batted in as the Sea Lions offense was too much for the Red Sox.  Rhodes Tewksbury had a perfect day at the plate going three for three
 
 Cooper Maddex and Henry Shmidt each had runs batted in for the Red Sox.
 
Brewers 7 Yankees 6
 
In a walk off in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Brewers came from behind to defeat the Yankees 7-6.
 
The Yankees jumped ahead early with doubles by Jonas Jackson and Charlie McIntosh and hits by Zach Cornelius and Avery Peshkin. The Yankees added some more runs in the third inning with key hits by Laz Winn and another hit by Jonas to to take a 5-0 lead.
 
The Brewers got on the board in the bottom of the third with hits by Liam Mechler and a double by Ezra Pope-Meyer to make it 5-1.  The Brewers added 3 more and the Yankees tacked on a run in the top of the sixth to make it a 6-4 Yankees lead heading into the bottom of the sixth.
 
Following a double by Cody Chittenden and a sacrifice fly by Alex Meleis the Brewers tied the game, 6-6.  Milo Davies then ended the game with a one out bases loaded single. 
 
Charlie McIntosh pitched well for the Yankees going  three innings, giving up one run and striking out five.
